Don't B a Cane User. Take The Simple Way Out!"

No. There’s no punch line here at all but right now this is an issue that is facing me on a daily basis at the moment. For those of you who don’t know, I am blind and at the beginning of November, my third guide dog, Odelle was retired.

This means for the meantime, I’m down to using the long cane. This is really really tough as the differences between working with a guide dog and walking with a Cane are extremely different.

Firstly, with a Cane, you are totally responsible for everything. On a daily basis I’m having to not only be mindful of, but locate and work out how to negotiate obstacles, people, roadworks and mentally this is really tough.

you have to be absolutely at the top of your game concentration-wise. Just walking my daughter the 5 short minutes to her school has me negotiating vehicles that people will insist on parking in the most stupid of places, working out how to get around unfamiliar obstacles such as fencing that they’ve put up to stop people from going onto a building site right next door and I also have to be mindful of other people. I can’t tell you the amount of people that can take my cane from out of my hand because they simply don’t look where they are going, stand on the end of it or simply just kick it on their way past. Not to mention the amount of people who have tripped over my cane too so I’m also a bit of a health hazard. Haha.

Because of the amount of mental concentration this takes, I also have to walk a lot slower so instead of taking just 5 minutes to get to my daughter’s school, I take between 10 and 15 depending on the amount of obstacles and vehicular/pedestrian traffic

While this is a temporary situation, it is extremely frustrating and is, in many ways, sort of like internet marketing.

In the beginning, things are slow, you have to learn a lot of technical things and really get yourself out of your comfort zone. You have to have a darned good reason to go out and do it also. For me, my reason is my daughter. I grit my teeth and get on with walking with a Cane because she has to go to school and she has to get to the many dance classes she participates in each week. You have to do the daily grind and eventually you will become skilled and your technique will become more polished.

However, I know for a fact that when I get my new guide dog, things will massively improve for me. For those of you who don’t know how guide dogs work, they are, without a shadow of a doubt, a phenomenal mobility aid. Unlike what most people think, they are not responsible for my crossing the road or I don’t walk out of my door with Odelle and say “Right Odelle. Take me to school” and she just goes without any coaching from me. The way a guide dog works is that you form a very close partnership. It is in many ways a team thing. You form a relationship and as you work together your trust and knowledge of each other’s idiosyncrasies grows. I however, am responsible for getting me from A to B and I am responsible for crossing the road but Odelle, or my next guide dog, gets me there from A to be quicker and much more easily than I could have ever done with my cane. I can’t believe the amount of obstacles I’m coming across that I just had no idea existed. While I’ve been in this position three times now, you so easily forget what an amazing animal a guide dog is.

So, if you are like me and comparing yourself to a long cane user in internet marketing terms, struggling with internet marketing, frustrated and finding the going tough and the obstacles and people harder to negotiate, take action today. There’s a community of people that will not only support you through but will also make the maize of internet marketing easy to negotiate. Don’t sit and wait! Take action. I know if I didn’t have to wait for a dog, I’d be demanding one right now.

If you’re like the majority of people you are either involved in the affiliate or network marketing niches and the chances are you’ve been told you need to act a certain way in order to attract the right sort of people to join your team.

This has been something that I myself have struggled with time and time again. It seems that we’re so busy focussing on the “money” that often our ethics can come into question. That doesn’t mean for one second you’re a bad person but simply, often, in order to promote a product you are required to do no more than actually sign up for it.

To me this is crazy. How many of you out there are promoting products that you can’t even afford to buy yourself. There was recently a product launch which I was going to take part in but then I sat back and had a good long think about things. How could I promote a product that I didn’t have? How could I then be true to the people that I’m talking to regarding this product and say how good it was when I didn’t own it myself. This scenario is all too often the way the majority of us market because we’re told that if we just do X, Y and Z, people will buy the product. It doesn’t matter if we own it or not.

Ladies and Gents, it’s taken me a while to come to the realization that not only am I being a phony by doing such things but I’m misleading others too.

It’s the same situation when promoting a network marketing company. People say “Oh just get your sponsor’s story and use theirs” but if the way you attract people to you is by having credibility, how on earth do you get started?

The fact of the matter is that most people won’t even make it because they’re extremely uncomfortable with promoting things that they either don’t own (it’s too salesy) or feel that they don’t have a story of their own or earnings to prove that their network marketing business is a success. Take me for example, I’ve been in this position. I’ve joined a network marketing company at a certain level because I couldn’t afford to get in at the top most level. I then struggled to promote this company because how could I tell people to get in at the top when I could little afford to do this myself. If we’re supposed to go out there filled with confidence and passion so that we can promote then there’s no way in heck you would want to push a product that you yourself didn’t own. It’s unethical and if you can’t be transparent, it’s uncomfortable.

Unfortunately however, up until about 3 weeks ago, none of us had the choice but to either promote products that were cheap enough for us to buy so we knew the benefits or we just went ahead and promoted products we didn’t own anyway. And people wonder why they don’t make it online? We have to be true and ethical! I want to be able to say, hand on heart, to anyone I reach out to that I know this works and I know yu can do this and I know it’s easy to promote.

I was sitting with my daughter this morning eating breakfast and we had the morning news on which is very rare in our house. It’s usually a fight to the death for the remote control but given that I’m not overly bothered about the TV, Madison generally wins that little battle. However, considering she is 8 years old, she does like to know what’s going on in the world around her even though for the most part it’s generally negative.

However, today she decided to swap The Emperor’s New School for a bit of UK news and while we were watching, the newsreader told us some news about a report that had been released today. This study has been a year in the making and has been produced by the High Pay Commission.

The findings of this report revealed that the average worker’s wage had gone up 3-fold since the 1980s (Currently around £25,900 per year or $40,000 for any Americans that might be reading this). However, the big bosses wage had risen 40-fold in the same time scale.

They highlighted the former chairman of Barclays Bank, John Varley, who’s wages were approximately 4.5 million pounds which is around 169 times the national average.

This report concluded that the ways and means by which these massive pay packets are created should be more transparent to allow the share holders in the business and the general public to understand how and why these people are paid so much.  It also concluded that such massive pay packets were “Corosive To The Economy”.

This study also co-incides with a poll which says 4 out of 5 people in Britain think executive pay is out of control and 2 thirds of these people think that business cannot be trusted to set pay and bonus responsibly and wanted government intervention.

I was stunned to hear this. I always knew the big bosses got a lot of money even though sometimes they were booted out of their jobs for doing a bad job but wow! I didn’t realize the income growth gap was quite that big. Especially in these economic times, where people are losing their homes, their jobs and old people have to choose between heating and eating. It’s just ridiculous.

The problem is most people in this situation have no idea that help is at hand and that there are legitimate ways to earn money out there on the internet that not only are quick to set up and get going with but require no technical skill whatsoever.

If you’re reading this and are currently one of those average people who are sick and tired of those at the top getting everything when it is you who slaves away all day then there might be a possible solution for you. Even if it is purely just to help you save for Xmas or that all-important holiday. Not everyone wants to be a millionaire but everyone deserves to have the money to do the basic things in life. It’s tough when Xmas is coming and your kids see all these sparkly new things that they want. How bad does it make you feel if you can’t afford them? What would it mean to you to see your kids faces light up on Xmas day even if it’s just the one present that they really want and you can give it to them? Would you grab the opportunity to make more money if it was laid out in three simple steps, required no technical knowledge, paid you instantly and cost peanuts to get started?
